Micromobility and SUMP


Description
How people move around cities is changed by the concept of micromobility. It brings along new and urgent challenges, such as operational issues relating to safety, traffic management and use of public space to name a few. City leaders and micromobility providers may be encouraged to create a modal shift towards more sustainable modes of transport when working together on the deployment of shared e-scooter fleets.

In this course you will learn about micromobility, the vehicles and devices themselves, the people who use them and the ways in which they can help to improve the transport network in your city. You will also learn about some of the challenges that you may encounter as you try to introduce a new micromobility scheme, or even just support the use of private micromobility devices.

This course is intended to be a first introduction to the topic, primarily for people working in urban transport planning. Throughout the course we have linked to a variety of resources where you can find more detail about the topics we introduce here.
