Smart mobility

Smart mobility and planning for SUMP

Description
In this course you will learn key approaches to plan for smart mobility solutions and SUMP.

Almost every innovation that has a link to mobility is called smart mobility. 'Smart Mobility' is hip and happening, but also a broad catch-all term and buzzword. Smart Mobility is often directly linked to mobility, but it also has a broader social meaning, for example with the energy transition. But what is the exact definition of smart mobility, which developments belong to smart mobility and which do not? What can you expect from it and what not? And how do you make it applicable?

This course helps to define the broad concept of Smart Mobility. We not only go into concepts and developments, but also give you a concrete application perspective. We focus on a few hot topics that are currently a prominent part of the development of Smart Mobility: traffic management (the iTLC), and the self-driving car. What you can expect from it and what should you take into account when planning and implementing smart solutions.

Learner benefits:
This e-course helps you get started. We show how Smart Mobility can be defined, what is currently going on and how we can already use it in policy choices. The general aim of this course is to introduce you to new smart solutions and to support you in decision-making when planning for urban mobility challenges.

After attending this course you know the basic principles of the concept of Smart Mobility and are able to position Smart Mobility in the context of Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning.
